Krafty Guest Challenge - Card 1

Hi Everyone!!!

Well I was very lucky to be selected as one of the ten finalists for Kraftin Kimmie's Guest Challenge last week. I have been busy colouring up some images to post for this challenge which is Inside Outside. The idea behind this challenge was to not only decorate the front of your card but the inside as well.

So here is my first card which I am in love with and surprisingly this came to me while in bed...yep luckily i had my notepad and pen on my beside table.

For this card I used Kraftin' Kimmie's Fabulous Frames 2 collection together with one of the sentiments it comes with.

I picked some paper I had left over from a previous card I worked on and added some teal and misc. black ribbon from my stash.

I did the frame in greys with a bit of teal as some highlights. Then of course fussy cut it out.

On the inside of the card (see right) I used some more of the teal and black cardstock and some of the left over paper.

Now here comes the cool part. I cut out the middle of the image and put some acetate behind the image so that you can view the sentiment from the inside of the card to the outside...get it....inside/outside...neat eh? I think I need to have more ideas in bed.

Below you can see it propped up as it is an easel card and you can see right through the middle of frame....

well hope you enjoyed!!!

Alex's Crop

Today I attended a crop at The Workshop in Stouffville where we were raising money for Catherine's son Alex. He is a bright and excited boy because he has the great privilege to travel to Armenia. Super exciting!!! I got to see so many friends and we had a fantastic time chatting, cropping and eating. Fun was had by all.

I worked on another card for Kraftin Kimmie's Krafty Guest Challenge...which if you remember had to include some sparkle.

I recently picked up Kimmie's Esmerelda.....She is just fantastic and the sentiment that goes along with her is priceless.

The only thing I wanted this card to include was some teal. I am in love with the colour right now and it actually worked out pretty good!!

I am very happy with this card.

For the bling I used some of the faux diamond ribbon I got from my local Michaels. I also used some jewels from my stash in the corners.

Well hope you like her!!!

Rita's Baby Shower

Today we had a baby shower for Rita at work. It was a great day and lots of fun! I offered to make the card we are giving to her. I made two different versions just slightly different. Since we don't know what she is having I found some fantastic stripped paper to use that had all the colours in it.

Here is the closeup of one of the cards. I used Kraftin' Kimmie's Oh Baby stamp set. This is my go to stamp set for baby cards. It is so cute and can easily be used for generic, girl or boy.

On the closeups you will notice the difference between the two are the baby's blanket, pacifier and the woman's bracelet.

I used spellbinders to create the scalloped oval behind the baby. I liked the idea of using both blue and pink rather than just yellows and green.

I used the same colours in both images just in different areas. It kept the card very simple and gave two very different looks.

I coloured the image using the following copic markers:

E000, E00, E11, E13, E21, E93, E55, E57, E59, YR20, YR21, YR23, Y38, YG03, YG05, YG09, YG21

Hope you enjoy.

life's a beach

Here is another card for Kraftin Kimmie's Krafty Guest Challenge.

I found this card harder to work with but I think it turned out pretty good! I used another of the May release images, Sunnie. She's just so sassy!

I coloured her in Copic markers. I also used various jewels and I found the drink in my stash.

enjoy!

Gone Fishing!

Kraftin Kimmie is hosting a Krafty Guest challenge so I thought I would do up a few cards to enter. This is such a great stamp company and I just love all their images. The rules are to use some sort of sparkle and a Kraftin Kimmie image.

I decided to use one of the girls from the May release, River. She is so cute with her fishing pole, tackle box, and rubber boots. How could you not love her.

For the sparkle part of the challenge I used American Crafts Glitter tape and glittered the flower embellishment.

Here is her close up.

Enjoy!
