KK Challenge 169 - Clean and Simple

Hey All!

So I don't know how I did it but I had written down all the supplies for this card, but do you think I can find it now...NOPE...NADA....NOTHING...

Kraftin' Kimmie has posted another challenge for this week and it was clean and simple. For me clean and simple is minimal embellishments.

So for this challenge I used Thalia from Kraftin' Kimmie's Goddess line. I just love her.

The paper I used is some old Bo Bunny that I had left over from some previous cards I had done.

Since this challenge was "clean and simple" I only used three purple jewels and some purple and lime green twine to accent this image.

I think it for this card it works well as it doesn't detract from the image which is what I wanted to take most of the attention.

Here is the close up of Thalia! I had fun colouring her in with my copics and just loved how she turned out!

Hope you all enjoy her!

KK Challenge 168 - Springy Pastel Colours

Good Afternoon All!!

Hope you are having a great Thursday. Only 1 more day till the weekend.

Every Friday Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps reduces a few of her stamps and last week I was able to pickup Cute-a-Saurus. I just fell in love with these little dinosaurs. In the package you get 3 adorable dinos and some coordinating sentiments.

So I picked this one to use on Kim's challenge this week which was Challenge 168 - Springy Pastel Colours.

You will notice that I not only pop dotted the pink square on the card but I also cut out the dinosaur and pot dotted him as well to add the extra dimension.

I did the background by hand...my first time...trying out a few new techniques. It was a bit harder than I thought it would be but I think it makes this card.
For this card I used Close to My Heart paper - Sophia. I also used Close to My Heart cardstock in Pear and Blush.

I used Distress Ink in Broken China to make the clouds in the background.

The copic colours I used were: YG11, YG63, YG03, C3, C5, Y13, RV63, 0, BG96, G94

Hope you like the card!

Bow Ties!

Hey Everyone,

Thought I would share this story my dad told me at the dinner table last night.

He was out at work today and was wearing his dark navy blue suit and his BOW TIE...apparently he is single-handedly trying to bring them back (or so he says). When this guys walks out of one of the rooms and exclaims some might offensive language; loud enough to catch the attention of everyone there. He then proceeds to turn around and walk back into the room from which he came. He returns a few minutes later with two other men. They then all use that same language and start laughing. Apparently they were just talking about bow ties in that room and he had to go and show his friends. Long story short it made my dad's day, and mine too!

KK Challenge 167 - Fussy Cuttin'

Hi there,

Another awesome day in Ontario today...NOT! It was cold and kinda rainy/kinda snowy...it was a gross day! and it all started with a trip to the DENTIST! YAY!!! not by favorite place to be that's for sure, luckily it was only a cleaning and not a checkup so no nasty fluoride.

After that life harrowing experience was over, I got to spend the afternoon scrapbooking with my cousin Brooke. We had a fun day, she was very productive and got all of her photos scrapbooked (the ones she brought with her).

I was able to get some cards done myself which was nice considering I haven't been in the mood much to do any card making.

Here is one of Kraftin Kimmie's new releases Sherlock Holmes!!! The challenge this week on her Challenge Blog was Fussy Cuttin' which was submitted by Amanda.

Here is my entry for this challenge:

I just love this stamp and it is such a great MANLY stamp. I find it so hard to find good manly stamps....as I am sure most of you do as well.

For this card I used some old Close to my Heart paper I had lying around...sad that I can't even remember what paper package it came from. I am trying to use up all my old paper and it seems some days I won't ever get through it.

I also used American Crafts twine and "spinach" glitter tape, and Pebbles pearl candy dots.

Here is the close up of Mr. Holmes himself...

I coloured him with the following copic markers:

Skin: E00, E11, E000
Hat & Cape: E29, E35, E39
Smoke: C1, C3, C5
Pipe: C5, W1
Hair: W1, W2, W4, W6
Shirt: YG03
Coat: YG63, YG67
Frame: YR23
Background: YR20, YR21

He is so distinguished.

Since the challenge was fussy cuttin' you will notice that i have completely cut him out and he is pop dotted on the card so that he stands out even more!

Well hope you have enjoyed!

Cheers!

Texture Challenge...

Today is Superbowl Sunday! Baltimore vs. San Fransisco...certainly been an interesting game so far including the power outage.

This weeks Kraftin Kimmie Challenge is texture. We were told to use anything to create texture to our project this week. Here is the card I created for this challenge.

Since it is so close to Valentine's Day I thought I would use Kraftin Kimmie's Valentine Willard for my card. He's so cute.

I used paper from Close to my Heart's Sophia line. It's an older line but I love it for its versatility.

I used spellbinders for the scalloped ovals, and Close to my Heart's Art Philosophy cricut cartridge for the flourish. I then embellished the flourish with pearls from Kaiser Craft. Behind everything I used some pink burlap which I purchased from my local Michael's store. Other items I used to create texture on this card is flowers, wire, metal bee, tiny jewels. Here is a closeup of the metal bee I included on my card. I just LOVE bees!!

On the flowers I also used Distress Stickles - Clear Rock Candy; it's really cool when it dries. It does dry clear but almost looks like it has flecks of mica in it.

Here is the close up of the flowers, you will notice in this picture that you can see the type of stickles I used much better.

Here is the close up of Willard.

I coloured Willard with the following Copic markers.

E00, E11, E35, E74, E79
C1, C3
B91, B93, B97
YG03, YG23, YG25, YG95
R24, R29, R89
Y18

I used glossy accents on the rose buds and the bee on his nose. Just a little extra but I think it adds a lot.

Well that's it for today, so I am off to bed!

Night!

New Cards

Today is the first day since my surgery in December that I have spent crafting away. It felt so good to get back at it! Here's what I did today...bewarned though this post is big. LOL
One of the ladies at work is having a baby so I made this card that we (the staff) are going to give her on Thursday for her shower. The Paper is from Close to my Heart. I used that paper for the blanket. The Copics I used for this card are as following: E00, E11, E25, E29, Y38 and BG23
Next I made a Christmas Card... I know it's a bit late but I just love the season. I used DCWV Tis the Season.
I used the following copics: Hair: E59, E25, E23, E29 Batter: E34 Skin: E00, E11 Dress: R46 Apron: BG32, BG34 Spoon & Wisk: C3
Love this blingy gingerbread man...
